L’EXCITATION SONORE DE ZOÉ T. – PERFORMANCE
Presented at OBORO in Montreal

Five sound generators in which the soul source of sound is the light. Each ‘Optical Sound Wheel’ consists of a base equipped with a 26” acrylic disc with cutouts of repeating geometric patterns. When the wheel rotates, the light beam passes through the cutout patterns, producing a distinct pulse of light. The photodiode catches the light and transforms it into audible frequencies.

This project was realized at OBORO as part of the 2014 artist in residence program.
